VASCOTEQUE / DISCOTHEQUE

As an archaeologist oblivious to history, Inger Sif Heeschen freely imitates and invents from old potsherds of religious ornamentation and popular culture.

For this particular show at Ta·da, Inger Sif Heeschen excavates the crossovers between a vascoteque and a discoteque, in order to question the perception of what is clean and what is dirty. She approaches the notion of laundry as cultural remains and artifact.

Inger Sif Heeschen (b. 1989) is a Danish artist based in Copenhagen. She has studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the San Francisco Art Institute. She recently had her first solo exhibition Put No Blame On The Master, Galleri R2, Bornholm. Recent groups shows include: The constant gardener, Bioteket, Copenhagen, Two Drapes & One Curtain, Gallery Q, Svendborg, Så længe lager haves, Gallery Specta, Copenhagen and the Spring Exhibtion 2017, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen.
